Yes, Tibet is strategically placed between China and India...much to the misfortune of Tibetans. Afghanistan is also strategically placed...between China, Russia, India, Pakistan, and the Middle East...even a worse fate!
The behaviour of the Chinese government and military in Tibet has been atrocious from the beginning. No surprises there.
