The electrical system on my jalopy is starting to go. That is what got too expensive to try to fix on my last vehicle also.

It's really kind of intriguing - press the brake, and the "headlight out" lamp comes on. Put it in reverse and the battery light comes on. The motor on the front passenger window died with the window down. Took it in and asked my mechanic to get the window back up and then disconnect power, knowing it doesn't make sense to spend money on that sort of thing. He called yesterday to say the way the motor was messed up (I didn't understand it very well), he couldn't get the window up with out doing a lot of labor on the motor first, and buying a new motor would be cheaper than what it would cost to get the window back up. So I sez "Order the window motor." Which he did. Then he calls me today to say there is a short somewhere in addition to the motor, but he was able to use the motor to get the window back up. Said it wasn't worth the expense of tracing the short any further than he had. He took the new motor out after getting the window up and covered the window switch with duct tape.



My kind of mechanic.
