I use Firefox, and haven't had any real problems with it...and I like the many third-party add-ons that they have available. Maybe similar things are available on/for IE - I don't know. I do have to open IE once in a while for something on a website that doesn't fully support Firefox, but I don't think you have the option of deleting IE from a Windows-based PC anyway. I use Zonealarm and its firewall rather than the Windows/IE firewall.
