I am reminded of the time my office all went to a comedy club in Washington DC. Guy in my office whose idea it was informed me he wasn't gonna sit with ME. I had a turquoise Indian print dress on and long reddish hair. He informed me that at least one comedian was going to nail my white retro-70s ass.

Not ONE joke! They harassed a white guy with a bunch of black guys (he was the token), but I was completely ignored. Maybe I looked scary or something. People often assume my attempt at keeping a straight face is just me being a stone cold bitch with no sense of humor. Now, I can DO that, but I wasn't. It was a good show, even if nobody picked on me. I even saw one guy on TV a few months later.

The way I figure it, the funniest thing around is typically your own self, and if other people want to laugh, I'll laugh with them. I think the site's funny. I think the world would be a better place if people who had a choice between laughing at stereotypes and getting offended chose laughter.
