This is a song in the Newfoundland Doyle songbook, and the tune has affinities to "Nell Flaherty's Drake" or "Bold Thady Quill", but it's a bit simpler. I haven't got the Doyle with me and don't know if the tune's in the book. But in the back of my head is another song with the same tune - what IS that tune? Mudcat experts, please!
