Funny -- the numbers of people turning out to participate in elections is hitting record highs. I see this as a positive sign, in my blindered, Kool Aid drinking mindset.

For decades we had mass resignation and indifference to the election process. You could check the statistics but they were pathetic as a per centage of eligible voters. I remember several articles over years apart bemoaning the apathy of the voting public.

So, I would offer that we have tried that approach, and it didn't do much good.
