So, what happened to my thread with the article that explains ...

That sounds rather as if it might have been a lengthy cut and paste rather than a short extract with a link - which would be one reason why it's been removed, if it has. (Or maybe no one posted to it or refreshed it and it just drifted down off the the page, as happens.)
