You put down that plastic stuff? Under or over the newspaper? I have gotten away from landscape cloth--I'd use a much thicker layer of newspaper before I put that stuff down. You could go whole hog and put down corrugated cardboard instead of that black plastic stuff. I reserve landscape cloth for places like around the heat pumps, where I don't want weeds growing up and interfering with the venting or machinery.
