And, no, black bears are not necessarily "more scared of you than you are of them". They are second on the food chain here in New Brunswick... and, if you don't know what you are doing, they are first on the food chain. Simple arithmetic.

That is why people get eaten by bears. It's not news. It's just stupidity.
