This is a standard for my group, & we use a corny ending that goes:
There's bread and cheese upon the shelf, uh-huh. There's bread and cheese upon the shelf, uh-huh. There's bread and cheese upon the shelf, If you want any more, you can sing it yourself.
And stop abruptly, without the last 'uh-huhs' or anything at all.
It never fails. After 3.8 seconds of stunned silence, somebody in the audience will go, "Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh."
