Oooo - I'm cringing at that remark Hoolet. I've found a neat site (sorry folks - no clicky blue thingy) at www.maori.org.nz - check the waiata/songs site. It's worth the wait for playing music. Listen out for how the "2nd part" will always be sung whilst the 1st is drawing breath, and vice versa...all to do with the sacredness of breath, and sustaining sound for the duration of the waiata.
