Subject: Bill Lloyd, Gerry McNiece at KFFC 19/04
Next Saturday see dual main guests at KFFC with the talents of Gerry McNiece & Bill Lloyd.
Gerry McNiece:
A hard to pigeon-hole talent. Gerry's songs are superbly written, show great insight and are subtly melodic. A great purveyor of traditional songs also, Gerry has to be seen! Black Sheep Masham Music Festival programme.
Bill Lloyd is well known as a live performer in Cumbria, the Borders and North West England, both as a soloist and with The Wildwood Band. He has appeared regularly at the Rootin' Aboot festival in Aberdeen, at the Knockengorroch and Wickerman Festivals in Galloway, The Tinto Festival, North Wales Bluegrass Festival, SolFest, the A1 Roots Festival, the Old Time Festival in Gainsborough, Dent Folk Festival and countless folk clubs and sessions from Wick to Penzance. He learned banjo from the late great Aberdeen claw-hammer player Ray Stewart. Bill Lloyd's music has found a wide and enthusiastic audience over the last 25 years, and appeals to young and old, straight and alternative, traditional and contemporary.
Concert 8.30pm- 11.30ish with a singaround in the bar from 7pm and again after the acts have finished until we all fall asleep (or over) or Phil the landlord kicks us out (usually at around 1.45 am). Accommodation available at the pub (£25 per night) and plenty of room for campers in the car park (free).
This should be a great night with 2 very talented guests....get yourself over here, we're very friendly! All this for £4!!!!!!!!!
