No, Old St is definitely nearer, about a five minute walk. I'd say Liverpool St is about a 20 minute walk, but definitely worth considering if you don't fancy changing tube - but you can't get lost down there, all colour coded and well signed.

Although so long as it isn't pouring with the wet stuff and you avoide the City Rd it's quite an interesting walk along the back streets.
