I sang this one at my Dad's funeral service yesterday, after "Wayfaring Stranger" and Ian Tyson's "Friends of Mine", for everybody to join in on the chorus. (They were all songs my Dad had played and sang often).

But as the regular verses of "Circle" were a bit too dreary for an actual funeral, I only did the first two ("I was standing..." and "I said to the undertaker...") and wrote a new verse to wrap up as a third:

then the rain broke and the clouds cleared
and the sun came shining through
I saw a rainbow, bright and beautiful
with the promise of life anew
