Just to be a D's A: While I applaud their courage and espouse their ideals, I don't feel that the situation today merits any sort of celebration. Tom Robinson himself points to the need for constant vigilance. I wonder therefore how much of this is in celebration of one's own younger days rather than the cause that brought them together in the first place.
Not that it would be a bad thing, in any case. But while Clapton remains unrepentant, the BNP is still there, and the Daily Mail spouts its venom to millions of willing readers while Stephen Lawrence's killers walk free among us, I would find it difficult to celebrate RAR's successes.
