This looks for all the world the same night I drove home with the sun visible below a block of cloud. It was brilliant yellow-orange and if it lit high cloud from afar that would be the colour. It was about 7pm UK BST and lasted 15 minutes or more.

There must have been an atmospheric effect to produce that colour.

It wasn't red but the lower sky (wispy cloud) was filled with the same colour glow.
