The reason that the KFC executives need to change their ways is because they don't just kill the chickens, they torture them. There have been hundreds of investigations, many of which you can watch online, showing the abuse that goes on in the KFC slaughter houses. The one taking place in the US that you can watch is at KFC's Supplier of the YEAR". In these slaugheterhouses animals are having tobacco spit in their eyes, being thrown around against walls, stomped on, jumped on, having their faces spray painted... etc.. just watch the videos.
All peta is asking them to do is to stop buying from these suppliers until they change their methods. Why not other chicken places a corporate asked me... KFC buys the most chicken by far. KFc refuses to do that and until they comply like Burger King and McDonalds and Hardie's have done, the campaign will continue.
5 of their own people off their animal welfare advisory board have quit because they will not do what they are suggesting and what many others have already done. PEta and their own animal welfare advisory board is only asking them to kill the chickens with controlled atmosphere killing which is just a method where the chickens arrive in a box and nitrogen, carbon monoxide, and argon are injected into the box, putting them to sleep. Then they have their throats slit or are scalded in the boiling tanks, as opposed to being scalded alive.
There are many other things I think should be changed about the way chickens are killed in factories, but this is just the one they are being asked to use. The reason that this cannot be legally charged is because they are chickens. If these things happened anywhere else it would be animal abuse. The Humane Slaughter Act does not cover chickens so we are asking people to boycott KFC until they change their methods and take a closer look at some of their "top suppliers".
