I just saw your comment. I appreciate your suggestion, but since I don't even know what British Terrace chants are, I'm gonna pass on starting a thread about them.

I suppose that you know that guests can start threads on Mudcat {not to mention that Mudcat membership is free and registration is easy}.

So, maybe you should start a thread on British Terrace chants, in general, or Origin of the Crawdad Song as a British Terrace chant. If you do, I'll be sure to read it, and I might even post to it-if I have something I think is worthwhile to add to that discussion.
