Subject: RE: Mr. Turner's Academy Cotillion-need notation help
My vague recollection of dancing Mr. Turner from that excellent LP is that it doesn't have the full number of repeats to do all the 'changes', but it would make it a complicated dance to learn for modern dancers if we had to learn all the changes as well as the chorus figure that makes the dance different from other cotillions.

I remember struggling at the first Playford dance workshop I went to. I had a feeling there was a pattern that everyone else knew about. I was having to memorise everything, they already knew that the dance would go -
A Up a double and back twice (and the music would tell them if and when they should set and/or turn single,)
B 1st complicated figure
A Siding
B 2nd complicated figure
A Arming
B 3rd complicated figure

We use that LP at our club too, copied onto tape.
