The best way I could think of to describe Boris Grebenshikov is to call him the Russian Richard Thompson. A rock musician, his music is heavily influenced by traditional and liturgical Russian music, as well as Indian and 'Celtic' stuff (for a lack of better term). Richard Thompson is actually one of BG's influences. Anyway, here's the song, from the 1991 'Russian Album' (Russky Albom).

Nikita of Ryazan
Nikita of Ryazan built a city and he ran out of nails. Nikita of Ryazan Stretched forth his hand and saw on them drops of rain; Nikita of Ryazan Left the city and entered the garden. Nikita of Ryazan Leaving behind the old man and the young aprentices...
Saint Sofia Hearing of him, came to his house; Saint Sofia Searched for him and found him under a shrub; She crossed him With salted bread and bitter wine, and they prayed and laughed together:
Look, Lord: A fort and from the fort - fear, And we are children in Thine hands, Teach us to look beyond each disaster and see Thee... Accept, Lord, this bread and wine, Look, Lord- behold, we are sinking to the surface; Teach us to breath underwater...
Nine thousand churches Await Him, because he needs to redeem them; Nine thousand churches Seek Him and cannot find Him; Last night it rained again, and a fire blazed, we are left with nothing more than smoke; But the town will be saved, as long as three of us Keep speaking with Him:
Look, Lord: A fort and from the fort - fear, And we are children in Thine hands, Teach us to look beyond each disaster and see Thee... Accept, Lord, this bread and wine, Look, Lord- behold, we are sinking to the surface; Teach us to breath underwater...
