I should revise what I said a bit. The same day registration/voting is only for the early voting, but not on the day of the election. People who show up to vote on the day of the election need to already be registered. I also don't know what personal information or documentation is required for registration here because I let them register me for voting when I went to get my NC driver's license, and I have been unable to find that information on the govt's website.
