Good point. It isn't just "goodness" that forms the enforced reality of false personae. Depending on circumstances people can do similar retreats into all kinds of attitudes, postive or negative -- cruelty, rudeness, being cunning, guilty, mocking, feeling hurt, feeling ridiculed -- as chronic ways-of-being, not acute emotional passages.
