Well, I ain't a female, but I can say this. I was made to wear gaters when I was a kid (dressup occasions), and they went with wool britches (I think they were called). Most uncomfortable damned things I ever put on other than shoes that are too small for my size 11 1/2 tootsies. I don't understand why women just didn't rebel. Never mind burn the damned things, but at least make 'em so's they're comfortable. None of that stuff even LOOKS comfortable, so actually wearing them must hurt like hell.

I really do understand that joggers might need the support (or enough support to stop the jarring effects of the feet hitting the ground, etc). Was there ever a 'movement' to do away with corsets and other forms of torture?
