I used Finale for a a number of years, then moved to Overture, which was more intuitive, and didn't require expensive upgrades every 18 months. I have been away from the work for a number of years, and am much chagrinned to find that *forced* obsolescence has left me without nothing that will work on my current operating system, even after spending more on software than I'd care to own up to--

My point being that, depending on what you need to write, a good freeware or shareware program may serve you as well as Finale or Sibelius, at considerably less cost--
