Yes, you would think she would have been pretty familiar with English people singing American songs in fake accents in 1960.But perhaps the guy had a really really really funny accent? Anyway, be that as it may, she says that it wasn't an isolated incident that just passed, but that it gave rise to a general discusssion, which actually included the hapless singer. Which suggests to me there should be plenty of people who ought to remember this incident, and can shed some light on it. So i do want to find this chap, if only to ask him what he thinks about singing Rock Island Line now.
