You know what? Your future doesn't depend on it! Not as far as I'm concerned. Some candidate's future depends on it. You've got it backwards if you think your future depends on it.

Your future depends on one thing and only one thing: yourself.

Don't give these blasted politicians or their stupid system more importance than they or it deserve. You are the one who makes of your life a triumph, a tragedy, or something partway in between...regardless of the machinations and chicanery of some wretched government that supposedly rules over you.

You have the power (over yourself and your destiny). They don't. You don't need them. They need you. They need all of us, collectively. That's why they try so damned hard to get our votes and keep us childlike and dependent for our whole lives.

"Just trust the Great White Father in Washington (or Whitehall...or Moscow...or Paris). Big Daddy knows what's best for you." That's what they'd like you to believe from the time you're in Grade 1, lined up dutifully to salute the flag, and most people do believe it. They want a herd of sheep. Sheep are obedient. And most of the time, that's exactly what they get, a herd of sheep.
