Jen Ellen, what's ICU and what kind of animals do you work with?

(A bit of thread creep here) I've been tryin' to get a small breed puppy, in the $25. price range, but find it's like pulling teeth. With all the shelters out there and all the pet owners and all the puppies born each year I didn't figure it would take so long to find one. There seems to be this faction out there though that wants to take advantage of my desire and profit by it to the tune of somewhere between $150.-$600. I was at the shelter the other day to look at a Sheltie/Pomeranian mix puppy and there were 11 other families there to do the same. We had to draw lots and I didn't win. Bummer! If there's this kind of desire out there for this single small breed puppy you'd think someone would step up to the task.
