I saw Joan When she was on tour for her most recent album, Gone from Danger, and she was excellent. Her voice has gone from very clear soprano to a lovely alto, but as earlier posters mentioned, it's just maturing. I'm also very pleased that she chooses to cover the work of people like Dar Williams, who is one of my favourite young folk artists, and Richard Shindell, as well as Sinead Lohan and others. Much of her own stuff I don't find as moving, but certainly Diamonds and Rust, and Sweet Sir Galahad are meaningful, moving, and lovely.I would recommend going to see her to anyone... I think everyone has off days, but she was great when I saw her, with an energetic and talented band, and she was very kind, gracious, and not at all pompous when I met her afterwards.
