In honor of my advanced age, for my B'day I treated myself to "one last visit" with my wacky, wonderful, finally-found-the-right doctor, who is leaving the area at the end of June. This was a major upset, but it had a silver lining in that once I discovered how much of an upset this was, I proceeded to get a lot of things sorted out about a whole lot of things.
I'm just back from that visit. I got a boatload of standing prescriptions renewed, and some overdue tests booked (they'll come back before his departure). And I'm VERY pleased to have discovered that he's only moving as far as the Philadelphia area!!!
So I will be able to maintain an annual visit to the DO/internist (plus other access whnever needed, such as if local lousy docs are not doing right by me with routine cough and flu care). I'll make sure all the locals send copies of anything to him so my main file will be there as well.
Whew.... this is a HUGE relief. A place to stay overnight on the way there and back also turned up in the last few months, with a very nice nearby pool. Both of these had also taken years to find..... a wonderful new friend lives along the route as well, so--
Sigh..... I got just what I wanted for my B'day, plus the news I'd lost another few pounds (without even trying). My clothes had already told me that, but it's nice when the numbers match up too.
