Yes..she IS still alive...and she has another daughter...Me, Mimi.
What great memories I have of my mother singing when I was a child. Whether it was falling asleep with my head down on the table at "The Earl Of Old Town", "Orphans", or in front of thousands of people in concert, or the times I met really cool people like Tony Bennett, or B.B. King when she worked for the Chicago Sun Times.. or even hanging out @ the Playboy Mansion with my Uncle Shel... believe me...I have some great memories. She was a huge nto me musically, and I will always have the utmost respect for her talents. It's a true shame she never got the national recognition she deserved. She was a great singer, performer,storyteller and damn good singer live.
