I've signed the petition, but the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 doesn't seem to cover swords - there's a mention in para 240 of the
Explanatory Notes of an exemption from the restrictions on imitation firearms when used for historical re-enactments. I've also found a 2006 report on Scottish legislation - but that isn't the responsibility of the UK Parliament or Government.
