I wonder if Mr. Obama's revelation is just one of expedience or of a true understanding of the doctrine(s) espoused by his former pastor(s). He claims that Rev. Wright led him to Jesus. Just which Jesus was that? The one who looked upon the conditions of heart as truth of the man? Or some other Jesus who would jockey for political position and re-define his ethic to fit the occasion?

The question still remains in my mind of "what did he know and when did he know it?" For 20 years he listened to hateful rhetoric from that pulpit but his disassociation from it came only after it came to public light in the midst of a campaign for the presidency.

You could argue that at least he came to it and for that I would agree. Better late than never.

Bobert, who defines what it means to a person to be black? Is that the responsibility of the DNC? The "Left" in general? You know, those that have to tell some one how downtrodden they are by some OTHER group, not them? When Mr. Obama came to the mainland he sought out this church, in part, to explain to him the black experience here in the contiguous 48 was. Was Trinity Methodist the only point of view in town?
