Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'Once in China there lived a great man...
Here's the version I learned at summer camp in southern Saskatchewan in the 1960s.

China man had a wife
She led him a terrible life
Cut his pig-tails off so long
Sold them for a Chinese song

Chorus
Oh chick-a-ratta-chee-chi-cho-chick-a-rollo
Bungo-rollo-peenie-weenie-wango
Oh-co-po-co-hit him on the co-co
Chit-a-back-a-chit-a-back-a chee-chi-cho

China man very stout
Servants carried him all about
Took him to the top of a hill
Rolled him down like an aspirin pill

Chorus

China man he will die
In his coffin he will lie
Carry him back to old Japan
That's the end of the China man

Chorus

(And the reason that he had to be buried in Japan instead of China is because he no longer had long pig-tails.)
