Wow, now I've been on both sides of the line! Quite thrilling. One of the things I've most loved about folkie music is that it is indeed loaded with opinion; political, religious, philosophical. No wonder it's often unclear where to start a thread. I love hearing people sing passionately about issues, even those that are long defunct; the Spanish-American War, the Great Plague, the Wars of the Roses, Gnostic Theology, transportation to Australia, etc, etc. They really do cast a light on our current world. And I like to join in the fun.
