Just to clear up a couple of misconceptions in this thread:
Rabbits and Hares are not Rodents - they both belong to the species Lagomorph - which also includes the mountain hare.

Rabbits are wonderful creatures and make great companions - I currently have two and they provide hours of stress relief.
Highly recomended as pets for older people
