Maple Leaf RagJohn, several years ago I was facinated with the idea of writing MIDI's, and was shocked at how hard it was to find any information about it. I won a copy of Cakewalk sequencing software in a contest and then essentially struggled through figuring it out all by myself! Since then I've found several good tutorials.
