Oh-oh, the copy and paste devil was here. Of course it should read (corrected part in red):

If you click on two links with target=new, you have one window showing the url of the last-clicked link.
If you click on two links with target=_blank, you have two windows, one showing the url of the first link, the other the url of the second link.
(It even works with only one link: with _blank you get a new window every time you click on the link, with any other target name including new you get exactly one window)
