It wouldn't bother me to pay so much, as we are doing here, also, if I knew some of the money was going to save the planet, i.e. alternative fuels/cars/etc. developed more to within most folks' price range, etc. As it is, I don't think we Americans have much to complain about...we haven't been paying our fair share in forever, esp. considering we use the most of the resources, yet countries in Africa and elsewhere are suffering more because of the effects of global warming brought on by our excesses.
