Funny, but I just came across this song (for the first time in years) while browsing YouTube and looking for "Jimmy MacGregor." I noticed this title, as sung by Hank MacGregor, and wondered if it was the same song I have on my Maria Muldaur album.
Yup.
The thing is, I had no idea Jimmie Rodgers wrote and first sang it!

Also, this is a song I really need to add to my repertoire for retirement home gigs and for song circles and jams.   Glad I stumbled across it again.
