I am in shock. He was not only one of the most respected journalists of the age, he was also one of the nicest human beings I ever met.   I worked at CNBC for a number of years and had the pleasure of meeting him on several occasions. He was as down to earth as they come, and I will always remember him taking the time to thank everyone on his crew - something you do not see often enough.   

Journalism is suffering, and to take a beacon like Tim Russert just isn't fair.

I can hardly think right now. I can't believe it.
