Thank you very much, Jim. I looked up Jeremy Taylor and it seems he's still around, with a website and everything!

The recording I heard was probably from the album of Jeremy Taylor and Spike Milligan from 1973.

"The Midnight Special" played a lot of things in this vein that I probably would never have heard otherwise, including Sam Hinton singing "It's A Long Way From Amphioxus".
