Thread Name: Lyr Req: Lord Randall parody (Roaring Jelly)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Lord Randall parody- Roaring Jelly
With one or two minor differences, Howard remembers it much as I do, although I only remember hearing it once. The tune was the one gnomad quotes. The last two lines of verse 4 were:
It's probably gone cold. Do as you're told.
Come and get your breakfast Lord Randal my son.
The first three verses were repeated all at the same time, then I think there was an instrumental verse, followed by 4,5 and 6 and then those three all together. Then I think they sang the whole thing together - 1&4, 2&5, 3&6. This time, the line "Do as you're told" was screamed and became "Do as you're bloody told!"
I also seem to remember line 3, verse 3 as:
"I'll clip you round the ear'ole - I'll kick you up the bum".
Perhaps it varied from time to time. It was, indeed, VERY funny.
John Kelly.
