MY parents said I couldn't go, didn't want me wandering around the city at a late hour at that tender age, went anyway, got grounded for weeks, and let me tell you it was worth it!
Between that and reading Woody Guthrie's BOUND FOR GLORY that same year, I was scarred for life.
