Even knowing it's time, it's still hard...very hard.

Mortimer, my diabetic cat, developed renal failure almost two years ago. Spoiled him rotten for two weeks, promised him he'd never have to go to the vet again, never again be in a cage or cat carrier, or have to ride in the car. My vet and his assistant came out to the house and Mortimer breathed his last in my arms on the deck. (I'm tearing up now, writing about it.)

I miss my guy.

It's never easy...
