Today, as I returned home after a not very good day on the golf course - I turned on the car radio. Brian O"Donovan's Saturday afternoon programme Celtic Sojourn was on, and as I turn on - what should come out of the speakers to calm my less than tender mind - but the Sublime Performance by Sandy Denny and Fotheringay of The Banks of the Nile. Can there be a more perfect performance of a true English Song, everything about it fills you with joy and pleasure, made the more so by my mood and the serendipity of the moment. Has anybody else had a similar reaction recently?
