And I wasn't meaning to diss Dylan. Or praise him. I simply wanted to know the source(s) of the songs. I also don't know if some of his later stuff is derivative -- the only one I am aware of is "Lay Down Your Weary Tunes, Lay Down" which I have often heard gets its tune and possibly some of the words from a Welsh hymn.
I think it was Hank Bradley whose songwriting advice consists of "Steal from the best".
