Thread Name: It's Raining (songs about rain)
Subject: RE: It's Raining
That Ain't No Rain

"Don't you pee all over my nice tin roof,
And try to tell me it's the rain.
The banker's got my good old farm,
My family's all in pain.

This sad old house is all we got,
The cotton fields are gone.
Sheriff's give us 30 days
To pack up and move along."

I found that scrap of a lyric in an old "Sing Out" from the early 1960's. I don't remember who left it there, whether it was a "work in progress" or part of a whole song. Sounds like something from the Depression/Dust Bowl era or, more likely, something meant to give that impression.
