I think in a spiritual sense, any datum is a manufactured substitute for facing the fact-less being of ultimate truth, whether it is a datum about who one is, or a datum that God is humanoid, or a doctrine about the cosmos. They're all substitutes for direct knowing-by-being.

I am very pleased with the "types of ignorance" idea -- I've made similar assertions of my own.
