One should budget an extra day at Mystic so you can just enjoy walking around the seaport and looking at everything. But it's best late at night, when the ships are swapping yarns with one another...

The Festival is always the 2nd weekend in June (although this time the Sunday was the 3rd Sunday). So next year's Festival should be June 12-14. Trying to find some bookings before and after makes the trip more affordable for those overseas; we can probably do something with you folks the Sunday after at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, June 21.

I screwed up what I was supposed to be saying above about what a barkentine is supposed to be: square rigged on the foremast only, fore and aft rigged on the main and mizzen. The ship in question appeared to have a pair of booms as well on the foremast, in addition to the yard arms. Therefore I still think the vessel in question was a 3-masted topsail schooner.
