Rabbi Sol, My brother-in-law had this done a few months ago, He has 2 prosthetic hips and has had them for 30 years. He is now 55 and the surgery was a replacement of one joint that was thew third one to be placed. THe improvements in materials and technique have made this a much more predictable surgery than it used to be. Will be praying anyway!   jimmyt
